Founder Story: Jaguar Books
I am Anand Mahadevan, a man of many passions and professions, driven by a deep desire to make a difference through knowledge, creativity, and connection. I wear many hats—Veteran, Legal Consultant, Author, Psychologist, Analyst, Mentor, Independent Director, Publisher, Content Creator, Composer, and Singer—but at my core, I am a storyteller and a lifelong learner. My journey has taken me from serving in the military to advising on legal matters, writing books, studying human behaviour, and creating music. Why I Started Jaguar Books
The idea for Jaguar Books came to me in 2021, during a period of reflection after years of working across different fields. As a psychologist, I saw how stories could heal and motivate people; as an author, I understood the struggle of getting meaningful work published; and as a veteran, I knew the importance of resilience and purpose. I wanted to create a platform that combined all these insights—a publishing house that not only produces books but also builds a movement around growth, creativity, and impact. The name “Jaguar” reflects the qualities I admire: strength, agility, and a fierce independence, much like the spirit I wanted to instill in our authors and readers.
The Vision Ahead
I founded Jaguar Books in 2025, starting small with a focus on quality over quantity. Drawing on my legal background, I ensured our contracts were fair and author-friendly. My experience as a mentor and psychologist helped me nurture first-time writers, while my creative side as a composer and singer inspired me to explore multimedia storytelling, integrating music and literature in innovative ways. One of our early successes was Dalai Lama by Inder Malik and Awakening beyond : the Invisible path by Pramod Ninan, a book that encourages readers to tap into their creative potential—a perfect embodiment of our mission. Today, Jaguar Books is growing steadily, with a presence on platforms like Instagram, Threads, Facebook and X. My vision is to make Jaguar Books a global name, synonymous with stories that empower and inspire, one reader at a time.
